This wild Frankenstein’s Monster-inspired hang card packaging design and illustration was created for a manufacturer and retailer of bicycle locks, in particular the U-locks that are pretty popular out there. The cross-bar that connects the open ends of the “U” is to be placed in the open mouth of the monster.

As you can see from the rough sketches below, the final piece stayed pretty true to my initial vision for the illustration.

Allowances had to me made for the hang-hole grommet up top, and I had to finalize some custom lettering for a logo and include room for product details as well.

The client was beyond pleased with the final results and we are currently discussing the followup packaging illustrations and designs featuring new monsters (hint: a Cyclops is planned next!).
