Ogre with Atari controller cartoon character
This ogre cartoon character design was created for an online video game portal website.
The ogre character was required by the client, however I suggested that to get across the idea of the character being related to video games, we add a prop to give a visual indication.
To avoid being locked in to any one video game system, I suggested we go with the old-school Atari 2600 controller, since it's such a classic icon of video games. The client agreed.
The other elements of the character were pretty much set in stone by the client's specs, leaving the actual look of the character up to me, but requiring the "head scratch" and the clothing choice. The logo tattoo on the character's arm was the existing logo design supplied by the client.
