“Klean Kong” Cartoon Logo
This cartoon logo featuring a muscular gorilla was created for cleaning service provider “Klean Kong”, and was also my first project from Mexico.
This project actually came about after the client found out that another designer had used my artwork for a logo and passed it off as their own creation. The client, once discovering this, was fortunate in that the artwork in question was available since the original client didn’t pay the balance due and therefore the artwork copyright was still in my possession.
Beyond that, the unscrupulous designer did a very poor job of ripping off my artwork, so the client also hired me to clean up and update the logo as well.
Because the final logo needed to be printed in a limited manner of cleaning supply tools, I developed the character from the original full door version to this limited palette 2-coot version. The client and I both loved how it turned out.
Personally, I preferred the version where I added the mop to the gorilla’s hand, but the client vetoed the decision. She said, “We don’t use mops”. I doubt they use gorillas either, but that didn’t stop her from including one in the logo!

“Token Gaming” Soldier Cartoon Logo
This cartoon logo featuring a soldier in military gear (machine gun and cigar firmly in teeth, of course) was created for a military gamer who wanted a custom logo for his online identity.
The client approached me with simple, candid project details: “I’m a black guy who games online with a bunch of white guys”, and with a nod to the Token cartoon character from South Park, his gamer name was created. And he wanted a cartoon logo to match.
I knew from the start I wanted to include actual tokens in the logo, which with the military theme I thought had a fun “spoils of war” angle, not to mention general gaming use of tokens — checkers, anyone? the play on words was a third layer of meaning in the illustration. Piles of gold tokens with spend machine gun shell casings came to mind. Continue reading
Upcoming Kickstarter Campaign: Glow-In-The-Dark Ghost Stuff!
My next Kickstarter campaign — tentatively scheduled for January or February of 2016 — is going to feature glow-in-the-dark items all centering on a ghost theme.
I’ve been doing a lot of research on items for this campaign (glow-in-the-dark items are tricky to source) and am currently working on finalizing the art for not one but two separate patch designs, and all the other related items which will be revealed in due time.
Subscribers to my email newsletter get first look at upcoming campaign artwork, as well as the heads up on exclusive day one Kickstarter rewards. I’m also working plans for subscriber-only patch campaigns. As well as free art, free downloads, the best coupon codes for my Etsy shop, and more. Subscribe now!

The “Sasquatch Brigade” Membership Kit completes the initial hairy hominid trilogy, alongside the Bigfoot Patrol and Yeti Squad.
$5 gets you an embroidered patch, shipped anywhere in the U.S. and $20 gets you the full membership kit, a sketch card original art drawing, along with all the stretch goal reward items, which are included for free as we continue to meet funding goals.
Stretch goal items include additional embroidered patches, stickers, window clings, and more.
New to this campaign is the option to get your patch with Velcro backing, perfect for military Morale Patches.
