This cartoon logo for a jungle explorer monkey cartoon character — complete with khaki outfit, pith helmet and binoculars — was created for South African price comparison shopping portal Price Monkey.

My initial sketch was more of a “rich monkey” character, complete with top hat and tuxedo, but the client was looking for something more jungle themed (which was not brought up initially). Once they did, however, the monkey you see in the final is pretty much the same monkey sketched up initially with the “jungle explorer” theme in place.

After some experimentation with different color combos for the text, the Price Monkey swung off into the trees to start promoting the client’s business.
